I'm Mia, an award-winning podcast producer living in Bellingham, Washington. I learned how to make audio stories at UC Berkeley’s Advanced Media Institute and have produced shows about visual design, sustainability, AI, and ‘90s R&B, among other topics.
I got my start in audio storytelling with Places, a narrative podcast about culture and opportunity in small towns. My reporting has taken me to the surf scene on Lake Superior, a solar project in a former coal town, and to the home of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
I’m passionate about writing for the ear, building immersive soundscapes, and telling stories about the American West.
In previous lives, I developed science content for students and wrote about music for a San Francisco newspaper. When I’m not working on stories, you can find me snowboarding at Mount Baker, paddling in the Salish Sea, or hiking through the Cascades.
